NEC Tournament:
LIU Brooklyn 11 (22-28), RMU 2 (25-22): Late Thursday morning, the number one seeded Robert Morris Colonials took on the number four seeded LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds in the first round of the North East Conference Tournament held at the North Athletic complex at Robert Morris. However, RMU did not get the outcome they were looking for losing 11-2. LIU Brooklyn jumped out to 3-0 lead but RMU cut the deficit to one in the second inning as junior Lauren Hackett hit a RBI double that scored Alexis Schwartzmiller and the Colonials scored one more run in the inning via a Stacey Capp single that brought home Hackett. RMU was held off the scoreboard for the remainder of the game. The Blackbirds opened the game up when they scored five in the fourth inning to go ahead 8-2.
