Moon Township Residents Experience Landslides in Their Backyards

Residents of Moon Township are becoming increasingly concerned about their safety as landslides in their backyards begin to worsen. The issue was reported by KDKA on January 15th, 2024, and homeowners claim that the situation is worsening. So far, there have been no improvements made by PennDot.

Due to this natural occurrence, Beaver Grade Road has been reduced to one lane which concerns the many residents who live on the hill above the road.

Moon Township residents Praghna Pati and his neighbor Ranjith, who live along Stags Leap Lane, voiced their concerns about their safety and their neighbors’ safety as well.

Pati stated that, “…it’s very unsafe. I’m not letting anybody come to my backyard because of this.” Rangith added, “It’s frustrating. We really like the house and everything, but with this, we really don’t feel safe.”

The two neighbors are concerned about the potential for the hill to slide due to the upcoming rain and hope that a solution will be found soon.

Insurance companies have noted that the landslide is not covered in their policies, but PennDot is expected to make a comment to KDKA tomorrow regarding the situation.
