ACHA DI hockey team suffers second loss in a row

With a late addition to their schedule this season, the RMU ACHA DI hockey team hit the road last night to take on the Washington and Jefferson Presidents.

Although having a small bench of only nine players, the Presidents would skate away with the 4-2 win, ending the night with four goals on 25 shots on goal.

W&J struck first early in the first period, but Josh Cleary would score midway through the first frame, making it a tie game after one.

The second period would leave the teams tied 2-2 after a goal by W&J’s Billy Austin.

James Joyce scored the only other goal for the Colonials.

RMU would dominant the game in shots, ending the evening with 41, and having several scoring chances during the third, but they were unable to get the puck in net.

Washington and Jefferson would score two more times, including on an empty net opportunity with less than thirty second remaining.

The Colonials will return home next Saturday to take on the West Virginia University Mountaineers at 9:30 p.m.
