Landslide closes busy Moon Township road

MOON TOWNSHIP – The second landslide in just two weeks has closed a portion of a busy Moon Township road.

According to a post on Facebook from the Moon Township Police Department, another small landslide occurred Saturday morning.

Police say the landslide happened on Univerity Boulevard between Stoops Ferry Road and the campus of Robert Morris University.

PennDOT officials are reportedly on scnene working to clear the slide and are placing barriers to prevent any debris from entering the southbound (uphill) lanes.

The right lane of the southbound travel lanes will be closed throughout the day, according to police.

PennDOT may be forced to close the road again if the landslide worsesns.
