NYC Man Leaps into 9/11 Memorial’s North Pool

On Monday, a Manhattan man was seen making the 30ft plunge into the shallow waters of the North Pool of the 9/11 memorial in New York City. He amazingly only sustained injuries to his leg and back but was later arrested.

Around 1:30 in the afternoon on Monday, the police were called to the 9/11 Memorial after a Port Authority employee had spotted the 33-year-old man leaping into the North Pool. The man can be seen on social media, peering into the hole in the middle of the memorial after his cascade.

Seemingly, the man only suffered injuries to his left leg and back and was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. He was arrested, and charges are pending. He could possibly be charged with trespassing for this act.

The man was described as “emotionally disturbed” by a Port Authority spokesperson and will undergo a mental evaluation.
