MOUNT WASHINGTON — A popular roadway that climbs Mount Washington in Pittsburgh will close this week for maintenance.

Officials in Pittsburgh say that P.J. McArdle Roadway will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday in order for road crews to perform general maintenance repairs.

The roadway will be closed between the Liberty Bridge and Grandview Avenue. The closures take place on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The road will remain open to pedestrian traffic.

Crews said that the work could be rescheduled pending inclement weather.
