11/02/21: 201 Commitment: Counseling Center requested medics to transport a student to the hospital for a 201 commitment. The case is closed.

 

11/02/21: 911 Hang Up Calls: Allegheny County 911 reported a 911 hang up call from John Jay. An officer dialed the numbered back and spoke with the faculty member who stated they misdialed. This case is closed.

 

11/04/21: Fire Alarm-False Activation: A student and RMU maintenance reported a fire alarm activation in Monroe Hall. Officers responded and checked the building. They were unable to find any smoke or fire. Maintenance discovered a faulty alarm panel. The case is closed.

 

11/04/21: Disturbance/Loud Music or People: An anonymous caller reported loud music in Salem Hall. Officers responded and asked the students to turn the music down. They were informed of the quiet hours. This case is closed.

 

11/04/21: Fire Alarm-Smoke Detector Activated: Guardian Protection reported a fire alarm activation in Lexington Hall. Officers responded and found the cause to be burnt food. RMU Maintenance was notified. The fire department was canceled. The panel was reset. The case is closed.

 

11/04/21: Medical Emergency: A professor reported a medical emergency in the Hale Center. Officers responded along with medics. The student was evaluated and refused transportation to the hospital. Officers escorted them back to their dorm room. This case is closed.

 

11/04/21: Departmental Information: A student reported their iPad was being misused by another student and wanted it returned. Officers were able to locate the iPad which was dropped off at the Barry Center. No charges were pressed. The case is closed.

 

11/05/21: Suspicious Person: RMU Officers were conducting patrols and observed a vehicle occupied in the Wheatley Lot. The occupants were identified and stated they were warming up since they were camping out for the fraternity event. This case is closed.

 

11/05/21: Fire Alarm-Smoke Detector Activated: Guardian Protection reported a fire alarm activation in Madison Hall. Officers responded and found the cause to be aerosol spray used in the hallway. RMU Maintenance was notified. The fire department was canceled. The panel was reset. The case is closed.

 

11/05/21: Departmental Information: A student wanted to document that another student was making them feel uncomfortable. ResLife spoke to the student and warned them to stop talking to them or they could be charged with harassment. This case is closed.

 

11/05/21: Departmental Information: A staff member reported their firearm missing from their vehicle. They were unsure when and where it occurred. Officers assisted them with reporting it to their local police department. The case is closed.

 

11/06/21: Student Conduct Alcohol: Residence Life staff reported students possibly drinking underage in Ross Hall. Officers responded and along with Res Life staff. One student will be sent through student conduct for violating the alcohol policy. This case is closed.

 

11/06/21: Found Property: RMU Police discovered a set of keys dropped off in the Barry Center. The vehicle’s owner was identified and emailed. The keys were logged into Lost and Found. The case is closed.

 

11/06/21: Welfare Check: Moon Police requested a welfare check on a student who sent text messages to a friend. RMU Police contacted Res Life to respond to Yorktown Hall. The room was found empty. Pittsburgh Police were notified to make contact at the student’s home. This case is closed.

 

11/06/21: Found Property: Res Life requested Officers assistance with a student who lost their car keys along with their dorm key. The keys from 21-0710 belonged to the student. The case is closed.

 

11/07/21: Terroristic Threats: A student reported their significant other threatened them in Yorktown Hall. Officers responded and requested Res Life’s assistance. Officers located and identified the person of interest. They were issued a trespass warning. The caller did not wish to press charges. This case is closed.

 

11/08/21: Fire Alarm-Smoke Detector Activated: Guardian Protection reported a fire alarm activation in Concord Hall. Officers responded and found the cause to be burnt food. RMU Maintenance was notified. The fire department was canceled. The panel was reset. The case is closed.

 

11/08/21: Departmental Information: A student reported their roommate threatened them over the weekend. The student wanted this incident documented and was told to block all communication to prevent any further incidents. This case is closed.
