Preview: Colonials look to rebound at Tom Tontimonia Invitational.

WESTLAKE, OH. — After a week long break, the Robert Morris golf team is back in action at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational in Westlake, Ohio. Two weeks ago, the Colonials finished tenth out of 12 teams at the NKU Fall Collegiate Classic in Union, Kentucky.

For the tournament this weekend, the Colonials will head to the 7022 yard, par-71 Lakewood Country Club, located just outside Cleveland. The course was designed by A.W. Tillinghast, who designed Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York, and the Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York.

At last year’s outing at the Tom Tontimonia, the Colonials finished seventh at +41. Kyle Grube led Robert Morris individually with a 17th place finish, shooting a seven-over 220.

At the NKU Fall Collegiate, the Colonials marched their way to a tenth place finish. RMU finished 55-over par, 10 strokes behind ninth-place Green Bay. Max Palmer led Robert Morris with a tie for ninth place with a two-over-par, 254. Palmer also had the Colonials’ low round of the tournament at a one-under 70.

For the Tom Tontimonia Invitational, the Colonials will be joined by hosts Cleveland State; Wright State, Bowling Green, Fort Wayne, IUPUI, Northern Kentucky, Dayton, Evansville, Detroit Mercy, Green Bay and Oakland.
