In case you missed out on any of the away games that RMU Sentry Media couldn’t cover, here is a quick round-up on what happened this weekend.

9/21/18

Volleyball: RMU – 0, Central Connecticut – 3

The RMU volleyball team (6-10, 0-2) struggled out of the gates in the first match of Northeast Conference play of the season. The team got swept in their first NEC match of the season by final scores of 25-19, 25-15, and 25-23 respectively. Outside hitter Taylor Lord had the biggest performance of the night as she led the way with 10 kills and 10 digs against the CCSU Blue Devils.

9/22/18

Volleyball: RMU – 2, Bryant – 3

Saturday afternoon’s game wasn’t much better as the Colonials let the lead slip away after the third set. Robert Morris won the first and third sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-20 while they fell in the second, fourth and final set by scores of  25-6, 25-18 and 15-12 respectively in what was a tight match towards the end. Middle blocker Emma Granger was the star of this match as she led the Colonials offense with 14 kills, three aces and four blocks against the Bryant University Bulldogs. The Colonials go on the road one last time against Saint Francis University before coming home the following week to face St. Francis Brooklyn during Homecoming weekend on Oct. 5.

Men’s Soccer: RMU – 1, Howard – 0

After the Colonials have struggled for most of the season, Robert Morris picked up their second win of the year against the Howard University Bison in a 1-0 shutout. Senior midfielder Kai Olguin picked up his first career goal at the 78th minute with Zac Sherman picking up the assist in the process. Robert Morris begins Northeast Conference play this coming Friday at 3 p.m. on the road against the Bryant University Bulldogs.

9/23/18

Golf: Currently in 2nd place after the first day of the Northern Kentucky Classic.

The RMU golf team embarked on a positive start for their season. Chase Miller for RMU led the Colonials with a score of 69 in round one and a score of 71 in round two, good for fifth in the first day of the Classic. Robert Morris will continue the classic on Monday Sept. 24 all day.
