Robert Morris University has opened the 2026 softball season with a bang, as junior catcher Aglaia Rudd took home the season’s first Horizon League Player of the Week.
Rudd, who began her career at Purdue Fort Wayne, had an incredible week, notching 5 hits, 4 home runs, 6 RBI, and a .455 batting average in four games for the Colonials. She also posted an absurd 1.545 slugging percentage over the week.
The Junior from Indiana found a new home in Moon Township after Purdue Fort Wayne’s softball program was cut in the summer. This award is the first weekly honor in her career.
Rudd is looking to return to dominance, coming off a down season after winning Horizon League Freshman of the Year and making All-Conference First Team in 2024.
The Colonials’ next game will be against the Morgan State Bears on Friday, Feb. 20. The game is the first of five in the Spartan Classic in South Carolina this weekend. They’ll also face Wofford, Holy Cross, and the University of South Carolina – Upstate.
First pitch is at 11 AM.
